Hi Everyone,
The RTCL executive committee wants to thank you for participating in the 6th annual Race To Cure Lymphoma. We’re humbled to report the event attracted nearly 820 Super Heroes and netted nearly $24,000 for cancer-affiliated organizations. That’s a significant increase over last year and it wouldn’t have been possible without you!
This was another memorable year we will not soon forget. Tom O’Neal welcomed thirty-two survivors, and the late Frank Bartram’s family counted down the balloon release. A cannon blast signaled the start of the race, and participants were entertained by three bands on the course. But none of this would have been possible without the support from our fantastic volunteers and generous partners.
You may be curious about the surplus of funds. No one at RTCL receives a salary and the net amount after expenses is donated to organizations such as Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Camp Rainbow, and Friends of Kids with Cancer. Our remaining finisher’s medals will be distributed to children undergoing cancer treatment through our “Medals For Heroes” program.
If you enjoyed this year then make sure you save the date of October 6th for the 2012 edition of the Greatest 5K/10K on the Planet! We expect to make a major announcement early next year and will have more surprises waiting for our Super Heroes!
God’s Speed,
Gary, Linda, Jerry, Doug, Esther, and Bruce – Your RTLC Crew
